About the artist:
OSCAR RÍOS OCHOA - SCULPTOR
Born in Guatemala City in July the 16th, 1978.
He brought up his nonfigurative realistic style in his father’s permanent studio, his father was the very well established sculptor Oscar Rios who passed away in 2004.
Oscar Rios Ochoa has participated in many different workshops in painting and sculpture. He has also attended a steelwork workshop with the famous Larry Sterling. He has also been part of group shows with Foundations, Art Galleries and Museums in Guatemala and El Salvador, among some of the most recent, are:
Special Arts Foundation in 2003, 2004 and 2005
Rozas Botran Foundation in 2004 and 2005
El Tunel Gallery (Guatemala City) 2005 and 2006.
Rios exhibits his work permanently in the most important art galleries in the Guatemala, such as Rocio Quiroa Art Gallery, El Tunel and in Antigua, Guatemala, at La Antigua Gallery of Art and occasionally in El Sitio (in charge of cultural proyects in this colonial city).
