About the artist:

HANNE LUNDER

Hanne Lunder was born in Norway in 1956.
A member of the Artesian Association of Norway, she Graduated from the National Academy of art and Design in Oslo in 1979.
This potter-artist is long since devoted to the diverse and secret tropical land of Guatemala. Her chosen land has become her second soil, the creative otherness within. Guatemala is a web of symbols, colors, diversity, and the unheard of. It is Densely green. Juices of trees, fruits in abundance. And, hopefully, tomorrow's children at the loom with the color red.
The red that plays such an important role in my expression is achieved by firing the clay in a reducing atmosphere. I use stoneware clay and porcelain fire it at 1,280 C in a gas kiln.
Hanne Lunder, the potter-artist, so deeply devoted to her own process of clay and color, is no less devoted to the people and forms of her chosen land and culture..
