Artist Statement:

"Work for an artist is not only about necessity, it embraces their life and like breathing for a human being has no itinerary, it belongs to their body, it relates to their experiencies, their tastes, their, culture, their present, their past and their country. Every woman that I paint is myself and my latent present. I face my canvas without a precise idea of color or composition. The only thing that I have clear is that every time I start a painting it is about “ something” that has hit me strongly. I go alone with my event and I paint. Since I was a little girl I studied music and dancing. I played violoncello in orchestras, rock or blues bands and t v commercials. All of that started influencing me as a person and as an artist as well. One day my brother introduced me to painting and invited me along to discover with him this fascinating path. The tendency in every painting changes everytime I meet an artist, a designer, an architect or a poet that makes a big impression on me. I simply like to “intervene-me” as if they were doing it for me, transforming me into their muse. This profession is not far from being a game, one in which I learn about its rules, like a continuos divertissement where every little detail counts, where every person fills a space, like a musical note that depends on sounds and silences as well, that’s what I feel about my work".
